An agricultural system that is more effective, rational and productive is not only a necessity in response to the problems of the populations who find their source of livelihood in it, but for the whole country. In order to reach the status of "Middle Income Country", Uganda will have to reach a balance point between% of the population devoted to agriculture (80%) and% of agricultural production compared to GDP (25%) and aim for a substantial increase in per capita productivity (e.g. Italy $ 41267, South Africa $ 6000, Uganda $ 217) so that a part of the population can devote itself to other economic activities and therefore participate actively and diversified in the general development of the country. SAF has set out to reverse this trend by training local farmers on the ways of increasing production but more importantly fight mal-nutrition and hunger among the local population of Buyiga islands.
